Classic Carriers Rack
- by
Argiope
The rack is a single piece, welded and heavily chromed. Chromed mounting
brackets are connected to the rack using stainless steel hex screws and
washers. The mounting brackets, in turn, attach to two flat chromed strap
assemblies, again using stainless steel hex screws. The strap assemblies lie
across the top of the engine deck, cushioned by rubber channel to protect
the paint.

New Spider!
For those of you wondering why I haven't been around much in the last
couple of days and doing stupid stuff like pouring through server logs, it
is because my new Spider just came in and I had to fly to Cali to pick it
up! Here are the first shots I have of the new wheels! PMok
should like it, the only color I could get was black...

B&M Short Shifter - by spyd3rm0nk3y
Both Spyd3rm0nk3y and Koops
installed the B&M short shifter kit and sent in their own pictorials and
directions, thus a double dose of shifting help this month on SpyderWeb!
Replace the rear bolt for the shifter
cover. Use the supplied push-nut to secure the bolt. This isn't easy,
probably the hardest part of the install. I really had to wrestle with the
push-nut to get it on and secure. Take your time and don't force it. I had
the best luck getting one "side" on and then pushing the other on. I then
moved it back-and-forth until it was nice and snug.

B&M Short Shifter #2 -
by Koops
My impression is that the improves the shifting
enormously. The first few times you need to adjust to it since the shift
stick is moved more to the left, and is also much sturdier to move. Once you
are used to it, you can change gears much faster (app. 300 rpm drop between
shifts).

TRD Rear Strut Brace - by Whelp
Whelp returns this month with another
feature on the TRD strut brace, this time the rear brace. If you
missed last month's article on the front strut brace, it is located in the
Articles section.
Started by removing the stock braces at the strut
mounts first. Using the ratchet, and NOT the torque wrench to loosen the
nuts. I went ahead and removed all the nuts carefully placing them aside in
the exact order I had removed them. That way I could use the same nut in the
same place when I put them back on. After all the nuts from the rear struts
were removed I then proceeded to remove the nuts from the firewall mounting
points for the stock braces.
