Ok, here's the equipment for painting the brake
calipers. As you can see the paint comes in 2 cans, one paint, the
other a hardener. I bought paint brushes that I could throw away. |

Car jacked up and caliper before painting. Note
the tire placed under the vehicle as an extra safety precaution. |
|

Part way through painting the front caliper. I
recommend a light first coat, followed immediately by a slightly heavier
second coat. The paint dries FAST! |

First coat is done. Note I preserved the
"R" on the front brake by painting around it. Just in
case I ever got confused! :-) I did the same with the
"L" on the left side. |
|

Close up of the painted caliper. I did the best I
could with the caliper on the car, sure, I could have done better taking
it off and spraying it, but I didn't want to mess up the brakes! :-) |

The wheel back on with the caliper showing through,
picture taken from behind looking forward. |
|

Another shot with the wheel on, this time looking
down. As you can see I painted everywhere you could possibly see.
The yellow is slightly darker than the body color, but it is a pretty
close match. |

Front caliper painted, back caliper not yet
painted. For those who might just want to paint their front
calipers this is what it would look like. |
|

Back caliper painted. The back caliper has more
area to paint and has some tricky curves to contend with, plan on the
back taking longer than the front. |

Another shot of the back caliper. Note that my
brake line also has a yellow stripe on it, from the factory, not from
me! |
|

Both calipers painted and the wheels back on.
Now just the other side of the car to do! I estimate it took me
about 90 minutes per side, but I was taking my time and painting
carefully. |

Another shot of both painted. I need to get a shot of
them in the sun, it looks really good! I got the paint from MG
Racing, you can find their info in the Spyder Forum. |
